Because this is a developmental issue, it should be dealt with in a sensitive way. The American Academy of Pediatrics says to reassure your child that this will pass and to try to support him through the process.  This is an issue that may cause your child embarrassment and discomfort so it is important to use positive and encouraging messages when speaking with him about the problem. Don?t let family or friends tease him about this issue, in most cases, it is not something children can control.  If it is a stressful issue in your home, just realize that as your child matures, his bladder control gets better and he will soon be over this small hurdle.
