Parent Involvement at School
Laurence Steinberg, PhD. And author of "The 10 Basic Principles of Good Parenting" says that a parent's involvement in their child's schooling is very important in a child's success in school. He believes that, "Deep down, children value what they believe their parents value. By involving yourself in your child's schooling consistently over the course of her education, you demonstrate to her that school is important to you." He goes on to say that parent involvement also lets your child's teacher know that you are active in their education which helps them in the long run as well.
