My story about: Rudeness

Momdeedee's story

July 03, 2007

I found my daughters were being overly indulged by their grandparents. This, in and of itself, is probably not unique but it finally crossed the line when I heard one of them demanding a juice from her and she complied. I jumped in and confronted her, asking if she wanted these kids to grow up learning that it was okay to be disrespectful to adults. I mean, if they don't learn to respect their own family members, why should they ever hold respect for teachers or neighbors or employers? She agreed, and I'm so happy we spoke about it. Yes, she still indulges them, but she also insists on common courtesy.
