Regarding the source who said that parents who don't want their kids to do drugs or drink alcohol shouldn't do so themselves: don't you think that there is a difference between doing drugs and using alcohol in moderation? That is to say, as an adult I do drink. However, when I do so, I do so in moderation. My children know that I drink. They know that I drink responsibly, and they know that they are not allowed to drink because they are not of an age that is legal to do so. They also know that I do not do drugs, do not condone the use of drugs and expect them to follow suit. If I were to use alcohol to excess, I can see how that would negatively effect my children, but if I do it moderately and legally, isn't that teaching them how to responsibly use a substance that is potentially dangerous if used in the wrong way?
