How do you put 3 kids (of different ages) to sleep? Practice Practice Practice!!!
I have still not mastered getting my kids to sleep. I have read all the books about nighttime routines, but man, with three kids, that routine can be tough to follow.
We tried putting the kids to sleep at different times, with one parent staying with the older kids. This sometimes worked; although the kids always wanted whichever one of us was with the baby at the time.
Then getting my middle to sleep when my oldest was still awake -- that was a challenge! And what to do with my oldest when my younger two still werent sleeping.
I know some parents out there won't agree with this - but tv time really helped.(Let me say this is not in place of reading a book and a nighttime routine - this was while we were putting the others to sleep) The kids were quieter with a movie on, and the oldest had something to do.
Also, just being firm on numbers. Dont say 5 more minutes and then keep giving!
So, what worked for us...tv and practice and keeping it routine. :)
