My story about: Napping for Preschoolers

CityMama-Stefania's story

August 26, 2007

We are right there in the transitional phase. It's split 50-50. If our 3yo naps then she's up until 10PM. If she doesn't, she's tired and cranky until she absolutely gives up and passes out at 6.30PM.

We've taken to instituting rest time. She has to stay in her room and be quiet, until a timer goes off. Sometimes she falls a sleep, sometimes she doesn't, but the important thing is "mama gets a break."

I really think that kids are different: some need more sleep than others. My preschooler (unlike my kinder) just doesn't require as much sleep.
