My story about: New Siblings

IronJessica's story

July 12, 2007

When my daughter was born, my three-year-old came to the hospital. There are much more exciting things in a hospital room than some tiny baby, though, so for a while he was entertained by the medical equipment, the nurses, and my other visitors.

Finally, he decided to pay attention to the baby. He sat on the little couch in my room, held out his arms, and asked to hold his sister.

My husband gently placed the baby in my son's arms. He smiled at her, said hello, and looked up at all the family's flashing cameras.

As soon as everyone had put the cameras away, he not-so-gently thrust the baby back in my husband's arms, saying, "Here, take this back!"

But the photos we have from that day are incredibly cute.
