The Pantry Cabinet

Just as you would keep household cleaning supplies, poisons, and other dangerous subjects up and out of reach of your young child, why not keep the ingredients and tools that she needs to prepare her own meals and snacks (like breakfast) down low in the pantry.   A child can easily learn how to get a bowl, a spoon, some milk and a box of cereal from a low shelf in the pantry and the inside of the refrigerator. This independence could mean a little extra sleep time for mom and dad in the morning.   It's up to you whether you want to teach them how to turn on the TV and watch Spongebob as well.
