My story about: Making Friends

itrebimbi's story

April 10, 2008

My son is in 3rd grade and seems to be having trouble making friends. He has been in this school since 1st grade. When he plays sports (soccer and baseball) he makes great friends, but they are not from his school. In his class this year he has made a nice friendship with another boy, they have alot in common and they play once every week or every other week. However, his birthday is coming up in May and I wanted to talk about a party. He said no-one will probably come. They don't like me. I was shocked. I said what are you talking about. and he started to cry, and I was thinking WOW, what is going on. He is smart (one of the top readers and math in class) his teacher loves him. I didn't notice anything all year. So, my question is how can I help him. I feel terrible and want to teach him to work thru things, but he looked so sad. any suggestions?
