What Experts Say*

If you're hoping to be pregnant, it's tempting to read into every possible symptom and think, "Could this be it?" Some women say they know right away, but the only way to know for sure is to pee on the stick or have your BHC6 level drawn, because very early pregnancy symptoms can be similar to getting your period.

Once you skip your first period, your hormone levels really start rising and once they kick in, you might experience:

  • nausea (contrary to popular belief, not only in the morning)
  • increased saliva
  • sleepiness
  • aversion to certain smells or tastes...

Hello my name is Betty. I have a two year old named Chandler and I am happyly married to a great man. I have been having trouble with my body ever since my son was born in 2006. I don't know if I am pregant or not. I have been spotting all month and I haven't had a peorid you could say all the month of May. I used to have irregular ones where I would have at least 2 a month and now its just spotting off and on and really light. I am worried that i am pregant but I am not for sure and I took 3 home tests and they all said negative. So now I am wondering what is going on and I would like some answers. Is there a way you could tell me what is going on with my body.

How frustrating! If you're not sure if you might be pregnant, you should probably visit your doctor. Your doctor should be able to confirm if you are pregnant or not, and if not, can figure out what's causing the irregular symptoms.
