Lucky for some, most antibiotics are perfectly fine to take while you're pregnant, so you can get medicine for common infections like strep thoat.
That said, there are a few antibiotics that aren't safe to take while you're pregnant. According to "You & Your Baby" by Laura Riley, pregnant women should not take these antibiotics:
Don't panic if you're already taking them when you find out you're pregnant. Instead, call your doctor as soon as you can to find out what to do. She's likely to give you a new prescription for one of the safer medications, because you still need to treat the infection. Letting it go untreated can cause more harm to the baby than taking a safe antibiotic.
