My story about: Nesting

BuckeyeChristy's story

May 15, 2008

I remember how everyone told me I would be nesting at the end of my first pregnancy. When I said that I didn't think it would happen, they just smiled and said, "Oh, don't worry. You'll feel it."

The truth is: I never had the nesting urge. No urge to buy a lot of stuff, no desire to clean the house from top to bottom, and no primal instinct to pull inwards. Maybe it's because I'm a lousy housekeeper to begin with, or more likely, not all women experience it.

If you don't feel the urge to feather your nest while pregnant, I say don't worry about it. It didn't happen for me, but I still had no problem bonding with my new baby and accepting my new role as mom.
