It is hard to know everything from the start. Although my mother's instincts were impressive (sorry but I AM impress with myself!!!) my mother said something to me the echoed a few times in the back ground...I was like oh! no! Could it be... I still have something to learn from my mother???
It was a little late, and I was in the living room, talking, playing with my little man, waiting for him to show me a sign it was time to go to bed. He was obviously getting tired, but his eyes were still wide opened. My mom asked me when I was going to put him to bed and I replied he was going to fall asleep when he would be tired (C'mon, mom!!!)
She simply said something like "I think the whole thing would be easier for him if you had a bed time routine..."
Ta da da taaaaaa. There it was. And it made sense.
I started the next day. 8 o'clock: bath, 8:20 little walk around the bedroom with a song to calm him down (he LOOOOOVES taking his bath!) 8:30, breastfeeding until little man is asleep by 9:00.
Thats it! It worked, it was simple, and it worked every day since. Even with his wide opened beautiful eyes, after the little walk and song, the breastfeeding puts him to sleep...for the night.
Wow! Thank you mom!
