Choosing a Daycare - Infant Care
How do I know if the daycare I'm considering is clean?
Don't forget to ask about the toys. Babies and toddlers love to put things in their mouths, especially toys. Ask about how they clean their toys each night. Find out if they are diligent about keeping one child's saliva drenched toys away from other the other kids. This may seem like a weird question to ask but those germs are the ones that spread the coughs that lead to the fevers that keep your kid out of school. Speaking of colds and coughs, also be sure to find out as much as you can about their sick policy. Some schools have a 24 or 48 hour rule about letting a sick child back into the school. It's good to know that in advance because it will affect your work schedule as well.
