Diapering How-Tos
You can make diaper changing time a really special time. Once you get the basics down, it pretty much goes like clockwork. And you can take some time to look you baby in the eye and sing little diaper-changing song. It's really okay to be as silly as you want. And it takes your mind off the smell.
As for a cost saving tip--If you have one of those fancy diaper pails (i.e. diaper genie) you are going to go through a lot of bag refills in the diaper changing years. A trick to keeping costs down is to only use the diaper pail for poopie diapers. One of the main reasons for those pails is to avoid the stink of poop-filled diapers in a regular trash can. But pee-filled diapers don't emit the same rank odor and can be dumped into a regular trash bin. It is still a good idea to cut and dispose the used portion of the bags often but you will get a lot more use out of them if the diaper pail is designated to poop only.
