In my experience, nighttime breastfeeding was ruining my sleep so I decided to keep our baby in our room for the first few months. Bed sharing or using a co-sleeper or even putting the crib in your room might make it easier for you to nurse your baby back to sleep and get back to sleep yourself. Once the baby can go an extended period through the night without nursing, you can reassess everybody's sleeping arrangements.
