One of the best resources for breast feeding moms out there is La Leche League. They can be found at www.lalecheleague.org. If you are planning on breastfeeding, it is a good idea to contact them before and take a class or let them answer any questions you might have. If your baby is born and you want a positive, caring and helpful environment to learn more about breastfeeding, contact your nearest La Leche League organization in your community or a breastfeeding group of moms who can be there to support you. Breastfeeding is a wonderful gift you can give to your child and it's a great bonding time especially in those first days.

QueenofSpainBlog: Don't be afraid of frequent feedings. Breastmilk digests quickly AND your baby has a need to suck, even if not for milk. LET THE BABY SUCK! Those first few weeks don't try to get on a "schedule"-your baby (like both of mine) maybe on and off the breast 30 times in an hour and that is OK. Feeding or sucking for comfort every 5 minutes is TOTALLY NORMAL. Let your child dictate when he/she wants to suck for those first, early weeks. You are establishing the latch-on and you are letting your baby do what comes naturally.
