I'm a mother of three, all under the age of four, and my oldest Alivia was old enough to know I was pregnant, but didn't understand after the baby came I wound't be back to my normal weight. So, after spending two or three days in the hospital giving birth to what I had hoped would be a 10-lb. baby, because of the weight gain, I ended up with a 7lb. 8oz. baby boy. My then three year old daughter felt the need to ask me, "Mommy, why you still fat?". My heart sank! I was horrified at what she had said. It was funny, I did laugh but it still rang true. I was fat! Over about three weeks I lost all of the weight from my little boy, thank God for breastfeeding! I've always been a big girl, weighing about 192lbs. before my first baby, but now I weigh 212lbs. and I'm still nursing, but it seems like I just can't get rid of this extra weight. So, today I have been visiting web sites trying to find something that works for me. I intend on trying the tips in the article "Losing Weight While Breastfeeding", so that maybe my daughter might say one day "mommy, why you so skinny?"
