My story about: Breast Refusal

olive_hay's story

December 10, 2007

It's easy to feel like you're doing something wrong if your baby refuses to breastfeed. How tempting to think, if only I can figure out the right position or time of day or whatever. I know because that's how I felt! The real lifesaver for me was my mom telling me that every mom is different and every baby is different. Sometimes if breastfeeding doesn't work, all it means is that it didn't work. Don't feel guilty. Use that to figure out what does work for your baby, and if that means a bottle, then go for it. After all, the kid's gotta eat.
