Girls in Sports: Celebrating 35 Years of Title IX
I wanted to share that the Sports Museum of America, opening May 7 in Lower Manhattan, has partnered with the Women's Sports Foundation to create the Billie Jean King International Women's Sports Center - along with being home to the first ever women's sports hall of fame, a place dedicated to the stories of women in sport and the people who inspire them. Along with everything else in the museum -interactives, original films, and great artifacts (including BJK's grade school report card) - it's going to have very positive messaging for girls.

Hurray for Title IX! When I was a girl, the only sport that was really available to me was basketball, and that's because I went to an all-girls high school! Perhaps I would have been more athletic had sports I enjoyed been open to me.
