He Made, She Made: Dressed to a Tee
Everyone has a ton of T-shirts they don't wear anymore, and some of them are so old and ratty you can't even give them away! But, with a few clever twists, you can recycle them into something new and spectacular.)
You'll need:
- Old T-shirts of various colors
- Safety pins
- Iron-on transfer paper
1. Cut strips from the bottom of your T-shirts so you have loops of the shirt.
2. Stretch them as far as they will go, forming very long loops.
3. Put the loops around your fashionista's neck in different lenthgts, like a scarf. You can also cut one large and one small flower shape from the rest of the T-shirt. Glue the small flower on top of the large one, then pin the flower to the loops to form a scarf.
4. To make a braided belt, stretch three loops and cut them so you have long ropes of fabric. Tie one end and then braid them. Tie them so that three ends hand down and add a flower to the tied portion.
To add some detail to an old pair of pants, find images you like, or draw and scan designs, and ten print them out onto iron-on transfer paper.
