Is anybody else going nuts with the late Labor Day? Our school district always starts the Wednesday after Labor Day, which I appreciate in principle, but this year it's just crazy!!!

I used to have a difficult time trying to have my girls try on their clothes to see what fit and what doesn't. Now I just set a date and from that date on they wear only the clothes in their closet. I don't wash until they have worn everything. This way I can see what all fits and what doesn't. It also gets them the opportunity to clean out the closet without a full day spent doing it. We also know what needs to be replaced for school shopping. I do this with shoes as well. I generally take the pair that they wore for the day and put them in my closet and keep doing it until they have worn them all once. If they complain about the shoes then i know I won't give them back to them because they will not wear them.

It is fun and there is no stress. Sometimes I make them a new outfit and hide it in the closet and when they find it they are surprised and say they never knew they had it. Enjoy.
