School time is almost as stressful for adults as it is for kids, and apart from the comprehensive resources here it is also helpful to be more acquainted with the school itself (depending on the age of your kids; older kids may not like the idea of you hanging around on the first day). I've spent a few afternoons going through the lunch they brought out at school, as well as getting supplies ready. A new alarm clock that you and your child has chosen is also an appropriate present for that important day.

Is anybody else going nuts with the late Labor Day? Our school district always starts the Wednesday after Labor Day, which I appreciate in principle, but this year it's just crazy!!!
