From the Disney Family Editors: We know things get a bit harder when our kids enter fourth grade. By arming them with the right tools and the proper encouragement, we teach them they can tackle anything. What does your fourth-grader need to bring to school? Do you think they feel prepared?
This year will be no "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing." Your fourth-grader will encounter new skills and learn to apply old ones. And, with a bookbag full of these supplies, she can't help but make something out of nothing.

What to bring:

  • No. 2 pencils
  • Large eraser
  • Red pencils
  • Spiral notebook and/or leaf paper*
  • Folder with pockets
  • Ruler (displaying inches and centimeters)
  • Pointed scissors
  • Bottle of Elmer's Glue
  • Box of crayons
  • Set of water-based markers
  • Set of watercolor paints
  • Gym shoes
  • Box of tissues
* There are many different types of notebooks and writing paper available; it may be wise to check with your child's school to see which kind they recommend.

We also suggest getting a binder if your child prefers to use loose-leaf paper over a spiral notebook. Wouldn't want to lose any of those important assignments!
