A Training Manual for Older Siblings
When children learn that a younger sibling is on the way, they are excited by the news. But they may also feel threatened by the new arrival. Specifically, they may fear that the newcomer will get some (or all) of the parental attention and affection they currently enjoy.

The blank spaces in the text allow the child to use a permanent marker to record his or her plans for becoming a big sibling.

They will read and write about helping their mothers during pregnancy, getting the house ready for the baby and assisting in the care of the infant. My older daughter was great with her little brother -- until he became mobile and got into her stuff! The seven-year age difference means that it's a constant battle to find age-appropriate material that they can both watch on TV.
