A Smooth Slice of Heaven
Its lunchtime. Youve got an hour to run errands, make phone calls, and presumably eat something. But walking down the street, a sign beckons to you: Manicure/Pedicure: $25 and you think I can do that!
Its not too expensive. I have the time and Ill scarf something down on my way back to work. Neck kneading, spine thumping pedicure chair...here I come!
And when youre done, youve gotten your pampering fix and its good enough for now. Your toes are colored, your calves are slick with lotion, and your feet are not in the sorry state they were in mere minutes before. But its not pedicure heaven. Pedicure heaven you have to plan for, make an appointment for and its always worth it.
This small slice of heaven can be found at Smooth Body Spa and Salon, tucked away in Castro Valley, a block off the Boulevard. Jessica is the goddess of the pedicures and not only does she do a great job to make your nails look fabulous, she gives an intense and thorough foot & calf massage. Shes got a lot of strength in those arms, probably from carrying her toddler daughter. In addition, her equipment is properly cleaned & sterilized. Smooth prides their business on being safe for their customers. Thats obviously a plus, but what keeps me coming back is the Spa Pedicure that combines scrubs and lotions and scents and just all around yumminess.
But youre not going to stumble across it on your lunch hour. You need to make an appointment with Jessica. Now. You deserve it.
