Today I needed a moment to sit and I found just the place: Bellacures Nail Salon in Beverly Hills. Not only did I sit, but I sat in a custom made over-sized soft squishy armchair with nothing on my lap but a trashy magazine full of photos of Tom and Katies wedding. A pedicure was just the respite I needed in the midst of this busy season. While I soaked my feet, a Bellacures technician massaged away all the tension of the week, and doused my rough toes with a turquoise blue minty scrub.

Slip away for forty-five minutes for a pre-holiday treat. I know there are a thousand nail places to chose from in Los Angeles, but heres why you should try Bellacures. You dont walk in and get a waft of that incredibly toxic glue or whatever it is that is used for nail tips. The salon is immaculate, light and lofty. Not for a moment do you think about that creepy late night news blip you saw about the woman who suffered some terrible leg infection from unclean pedicure tools. At Bellacures they autoclave their instruments. (This is a sterilization process used in hospitals and dental offices.) Each packet of cleaned tools is then packaged in a sterilization pouch after each use. They also dont use those big chairs with the footbath spas in them, which although comfortable are very difficult to clean properly. Instead, they use a pedicure tub with a separate plastic liner in it which is disposed of after your treatment. So you can really rest assure that you are being truly pampered and safely taken care of.
