I'm sure like many other moms, you've got fitness on your ever growing list of improvements to make for 2007. I've begun working out twice a day in an effort to see the pounds melt away. My only issue is trying to maximize the time I spend on improving myself while not taking time away from improving my relationship with my daughter. As a single mom, inevitably the only time that leaves me for me is at night when she's sleeping, in the morning before she wakes up, or during my lunch break.
I do workout tapes at home in the morning but I always have
so many other things to do around the house there is no
guarantee that when I go downstairs to get some water before my
workout I won't get sidetracked by that stack of dishes or pile
of mail. Twice weekly I take dance class.
Monday night is an African class that we both really
enjoy attending. She can workout her inner dancing diva or she
play with other children.
My Wednesday night Go-Go Stiletto class is not rated G - so she normally has a play date those nights! So for the new year, I've opted to utilize our live-in mother's helper to get some morning time in with a trainer & let go of the guilt of taking my daughter to the YMCA childcare facility on Tuesday and Saturdays so I can enjoy Kym's cardio funk class. My daughter actually loves the Y and doesn't want to leave when it's time to go. Below are some kid-friendly workout options in Atlanta to get you closer to your fitness goals for '07.
