Gifts and flowers will arrive. Start a running list of what you've received. That way, no one will be forgotten when it's time to write thank you notes. Keep the list handy and show your spouse and caregiver where it is to make sure every gift gets tracked.
Attach balloons or a sign on the front door. Let your neighbors know the baby has arrived. This will also help to minimize the number of calls and unexpected visitors during your first few days after delivery. Have your neighbor who keeps asking you what she can do to help pick these up and post them on the box. She'll feel like she has the inside scoop!
These techniques will help you maintain order without hurting anyone's feelings. It will also give you and your family and chance to settle in successfully.
