In our weekly column "Modern Mom Profiles...," we interview an inspirational mom about how she balances her family, career and self.

This week, we profile award-winning TV personality and co-host of ABCs The View, Joy Behar.

MM: What's your secret to balancing career and family?
JB: My secret to balancing career and family is to only have one child. As Katherine Hepburn once noted, you can't do it all.

MM: What do you want to teach your children?
JB: I would like to teach my children that they can live without their parents, if necessary, to think for themselves and don't be afraid to take smart chances.

MM: Favorite thing to do with your family?
JB: Having my family and friends out to my summer home to swim, eat and be together.

MM: What did your parents teach you about parenting?
JB: My parents taught me: let a child speak her mind, treat pets with love and kindness and never marry a compulsive gambler.

MM: What is your greatest achievement?
JB: My greatest achievement is having raised a daughter who likes living in my building.

MM: Who is your role model?
JB: My role model is Golda Meir, because she could run a country, tell men what to do and they would listen and because she looked exactly like Lyndon Johnson, and didn't care one bit.

MM: What do you do when you're feeling selfish?
JB: I pamper myself by having muscular young Swedes give me massages.

MM: What product can't you live without?
JB: The product I cannot live without is hair conditioner, especially in the summer on a hot, muggy, disgusting day. And of course, Botox Cosmetic for those annoying "11's" between my eyes.

MM: Tell us what you're up to now:
JB: My daughter Eve and I are involved in a campaign called "Mother-Daughter Beauty Secrets Through the Decades" where we appear at special in-store events at Nordstrom stores throughout the country. Also, my next gig is at Alice Tully Hall, part of the N.Y. Comedy Festival in November of 2005, and my children's book Shi-Tzu-Ca-Ca-Poo-Poo, My Kind of Dog, will be released in 2006.
