Baby Fat: When to Rejoice, When to Worry
My son, now 3 months is almost 16 lbs., but he is breastfed. For breast feeding mothers my peditrician says we must remember that breast milk weight differs from formula weight. Breast milk has the power of adjusting to your babies needs unlike formula and once hes on the move ( which will be soon!!) he shed it off fast! Plus who doesnt love those little puggy cheeks, and chunky legs! ( besides my back LOL)

My 2 month old is already getting the...wow, he's a BIG boy! But, his weight is proportional to his height, so the doctor says not to worry about it! Plus he is just 2 months old and doesn't move too much. I am sure when he gets more mobile, he will thin out a bit!

This is good information. My daughter has always been big - both heavy and tall - but people seem to focus on the weight more than anything.
Her doctor says that while she is heavy for her age, her height is right in line with her weight, so there's nothing to worry about.
Good tips for preventing obesity - we need to practice not eating out so much!

good info! Ppl used to always comment that my oldest was "huge." He was! I was paranoid for awhile - he got very chunky before he started moving but it's all normal. Now he's over 3 and he's actually extremtly tall and lean.

This is helpful information. Especially coming from someone whose child could be that baby's body double. We focus on happiness, physical activity and future potential for winning the world's strongest man title someday.
