It's Tuesday and you just found out that your co-worker's birthday is on Friday and you're in charge of throwing something together. The party has to take place in the office, and you're on a strict budget. Your boss wants something fun and easy and no fuss. Who ya gonna call? One Hour Parties, of course.
One Hour Parties is a different kind of catering company, providing quick and dirty party service delivered to your office (or home) with a minimum of hassle. After you've clicked around their website and chosen between the ice cream social party and the strawberry shortcake party (to name just two) you fill out a simple online request form, they send you an email confirmation, and you're all set. On the day of the party, they arrive with all the goodies and work in the office can come to a screeching halt while you all assemble your sundaes and get whipped cream on your noses.
You could also have a pared-down party that consists of nothing but beverages, which they bring in a big party ball (see above). If your company allows, you can spike the punch with an appropriate alcoholic addition. (If your company frowns on this kind of thing, maybe you should be looking for a new job.) One Hour Parties also offers more traditional catering like lunch or pizza buffets, and you can order fun distractions like an espresso or smoothie cart, too. Prices range from practically free ($1.95 per person) to very reasonable ($5-6 per), so you can keep everybody from the birthday girl to the tightwad accountant happy.
