Since becoming a mother 9+ years ago, going to a spa or having pampering services, has moved lower and lower on the list of things that I can find time to do.

Not that it was a huge part of my life prior to children, but at least I could plan a day away with girlfriends, get a massage & facial, relax. These days, the sheer thought of going to a spa is formidable. Where is it? Do I have to drive there? How much is parking? Who is going to watch the kids? What if my childcare arrangements for that day fall through? How much are the services? Its enough to make it a challenge that Im not interested in conquering -- until I heard about Spa Dee Dah, a mobile spa service.

Founded last year by an esthetician and a massage therapist, Spa Dee Dah is a way for you to organize a spa day for yourself and your friends at your own house. Picture this: youve got a friend who is due with her second child and you want to do some kind of gathering of women but the spa obstacles I mentioned earlier get in the way. Call Spa Dee Dah. Reserve a date & time for your party; show your friends the menu of services that are available; have them pay for their service ahead of time; you send the payment to Spa Dee Dah; and when the day arrives, you set up your home like a spa. Spa Dee Dah has specific space requirements for example, they want a separate room for the massage therapist and a separate space for the children [whom youre all taking turns watching during your girlfriends services, of course.]

So instead of dealing with childcare issues, driving, parking, and being far away from your children, you get pampered in your own home. Did I mention that the host gets a 30 minute massage and 30 minute facial for being the host? How fast are you going to call them?
