For a tired Mom on Valentines Day, what could be better than chocolates and roses? A chocolate and rose oil scrub at Ona Spa.

Ona is translated all things good in the French Basque dialect. In my experience it ought to mean all things great. Ona Spa is quiet, relaxing and beautifully appointed in a Balinese style that transports you to another world. The technicians are friendly and knowledgeable.

Onas Valentines Day treatment begins with a piece of dark organic chocolate infused with natural oils, melting on your tongue. As you lay on their massage table, a chocolate and sugar scrub is massaged onto your body exfoliating and stimulating the skin. Soon after, a warm Vichy shower with seven showerheads rinses you off, all while you are still lying peacefully on your raft like table. Rose oil is massaged on your body as you are fed another bite of chocolate.

Does that sound too good to be true? Its not. I was there. And you should be too.

After I left Ona, I floated downstairs to Prive Salon to do something about my wintery straw like hair. Prive suggested a scalp restoration treatment, something I had never heard of.

First, my hair was brushed for quite some time stimulating the scalps natural oils. Essential oils were massaged into my roots and then applied to the hair strands themselves. I sat under a heater, letting the oils saturate my hair.

Next my hair was washed and then a clay solution applied before I sat under steam. I was rinsed off again before my hair was blown dry. My hair feels lighter, moisturized and so much healthier.

The woman at the front desk hardly recognized me. I had been revived. Like a rose in bloom, I was ready to celebrate. Too bad my evenings big event was just the pre-school potluck. Still, I felt fantastic.
