We can all likely agree that choice is a good thing. We like having options for what to watch, what to listen to, how to dress and what to eat. But, are you with us when we say the endless amount of choice in the grocery store has gone too far? Just check out the tea selection and youll know what were talking about.

Weekly (or for some of us daily) trips to the grocery store can be downright overwhelming and stressful. If you dare show up without a list, you risk spending hours of your precious time choosing between hundreds of barely distinguishable offerings in every category. And when youre looking for something healthy, forget about it! Dont waste your time in decision-making paralysis; instead bring along The Ultimate Summer Grocery List. Some are new to the shelves and others in season, but all are healthy and good for you!

  • Chia seeds - The same ingredient thats in everybodys favorite fast-growing pet is one of the best sources of Omega-3 fatty acids (even better than flax), and rich in fiber, protein, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
  • Kombucha - Best described as a cross between a tea and an elixir, kombucha is made from raw (that means not pasteurized for you sensitive stomachs) organic ingredients and a cultured kind of yogurt.
  • Green peas - Though small in stature, they are big in nutrition (and in season!). High in 8 vitamins (including vitamins K, C & B1), 7 minerals (like manganese and folate), and dietary fiber and protein, your bones and heart will (peas and) thank you!

  • Mate Traditionally sipped through a bambillo (part straw, part sieve), mate (rhymes with latte) tea is an herbal tonic that tastes like a green tea-coffee hybrid and packs quite a punch without the jitters and upset stomach that often accompany your regular cup o joe.
  • Bing cherries - Now in season, they are a sweet source of Vitamin C, fiber and antioxidants. Grab a mahogany-colored handful, or sip on all natural CherryPharm (1 serving is like 50 cherries without the pits!).
  • Coconut water For post-workout replenishment and hydration, skip artificial sports drinks and go for one of natures purest treats. Young coconut water is packed with electrolytes, minerals and natural healing properties. Bonus: its also a great hangover cure! (Dont act like youre above it!)
  • Agave - Looking for a sweet alternative to those pastel packets? From the nectar of a succulent plant (picture aloe), agave (ah-GAH-vay) is 100% natural, has a low glycemic index and fewer calories than any other sweetener.
  • Mangosteen juice - Make it your new morning staple. High in potent antioxidant xanthones and vitamin C, this queen of super fruits may protect your immune system and give your brain a boost.

On your next shopping trip, consider tossing these goodies into your cart (and toting them home in a canvas bag).
