Some kids treat all money like Monopoly money. This video shows that it's never too early to talk to your kids about the importance of earning an allowance and investing -- yes, investing -- a small portion of it. We agree.

I really liked her ideas on how to teach kids to spend wisely:
1) Start early
2) Kids need to EARN their allowance by doing chores, etc...
3) Their allowance should equal the amount you currently spend on their monthly "fun" budget
4) Follow the 10 - 10 - 10 - 70 rule (10 percent should go to a charity of their choice, 10 to investments, 10 to savings and 70 can be spent)
