People are so fast to judge other parents sometimes and that can hurt more than anything to a nwe Mom. I always try to remember how I feel and be respectful of others.

I see the negative thoughts and words a reflection of insecurity: Well, I did this and if you choose that, you're saying my way was inferior. It takes a confident and insightful parent to look past these parenting differences and really see that families work in different ways. Having a high-energy, willful child, I have 10x the empathy for other mothers than before.

I couldn't agree more. Every kid is different, every situation is different, and so each mom has to find what works best. Better to look for the positives than look down on the negatives.

I have one particular friend who always questions my judgment. Just let her cry it out, She's old enough for solids, etc. It gets old and is a strain on the relationship. It's important to remember that every child - and mom - is different!

BooYah -- from our mommy mouths to the media's ears -- parenting is hard enough, we could ALL use a little validation, every now and then!

This is a great article - I remember biting my tongue with my best friend when she decided not to vaccinate her kids; I'm sure she bit hers when I told her that my son had gotten his HiB vaccine! We agreed to disagree and kept our deep friendship intact.

Right on! We moms have so much more in common than just our kids. I've realized that my best friends may not parent my way, but our other commonalities keep us close.
