I nursed my daughter for a little over a year and my son for almost two years while on Navy active duty. It was that important to me, so I just made it happen.
If parents had more community and medical support, and really understood that it's clearly the best option, not just "nice to do," they would feel more driven to stick with it longer.
This is a topic that my husband and I constantly argue about: Breastfeeding. The reason is that our daughter has already turned two and I am still breastfeeding her. It is just convenient... how would I break this habit? Is this unhealthy for me or our daughter?
