This is a treat that would be good on a warm summer day, or on a winter day to remind families that summer will come again!
It's also a nice way to top off a holiday meal. The easy recipe makes four Frosty Fruit Cones.
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh, washed and sliced strawberries (about 7 whole)
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups (12 ounces) plain or strawberry nonfat yogurt
4 ice cream cones

3. Scoop the frozen mixture into ice cream cones and serve.

Helpful Hints: This recipe can be made even if no blender is available. Use a fork to mash the strawberries and stir in sugar and yogurt until well blended. Strawberries not your favorite? Use fresh peaches and peach yogurt for variety. Buying fruits in season saves money, and the flavor is at its peak.
Safety Tip: Remove leaves and stems on strawberries and wash under cool running water before eating. Place all ingredients in blender and cover with lid before mixing. Teach children that blender blades are sharp and to never reach inside the blender container with a spatula or spoon while the blender is running. Adult supervision is important for children using appliances such as blenders and mixers.
