  • This was so yummy! And so easy to make, it's stuff you usually have in the house anyway! Me and my 2 1/2 year old son loved it! We added some cooked cinnamon apples to the recipe and then a little dribble of maple syrup after it came out of the oven. It is for sure going to be one of our favorite weekend breakfast recipes! Thanks for sharing and for the detailed directions- they really help people like me:)

  • This is my go-to weekend breakfast recipe, thanks to you! We have it with the lemon juice and powdered sugar and it is divine. I like the way it feels fancy, but it is so utterly simple. You are awesome and keep 'em coming!

  • Delish! We loved your puffy pancake, and the upside down cranberry cake, too. There are several recipes here I've got on my "to try" list. Thanks for sharing! I have to say I was careful with the butter toss after reading the previous comment about missing the pan. Phew! I made it.

  • My kids eat in their PJs too! I figure they are going to change their clothes anyway and now when they spill, dribble, drip it doesn't matter. At least this is what I tell myself so I don't feel guilty about the pajamas!

  • "This is AWESOME," said my 7 year old. I had to make 3 batches for the kids and I barely got a taste. Next time I'm trying doubling or tripling the recipe and a bigger pan! Loved the comment about putting it in the blender and vvvvvvvvvvv. That's what I did for about 5 seconds and it seemed perfect to me.

  • When i made this yesterday it came out with two perfectly puffed up, pert cheeks. The boys, deriding one of mum's culinary adventures, called it "bum cake" . This morning they are using it as a term of endearment to get me to make another one! As in "Please could you make another butt cake mum?"
    Thanks again!

  • Wow... we made this today, in the new cast iron skillet my husband got for Christmas... this was amazing. I was lacking the powdered sugar, so I used regular sugar instead. It was lovely. I had no idea what was going to happen with it with so few ingredients. This is another stellar recipe Catherine - such a fun food column!!! Thanks!

  • I see why you let Michael toss the butter into the pan in the oven:-) I tried and missed and the butter melted in the bottom of the oven and I didn't know what to do, so I just kept going...the oven ended up catching on fire and the smoke detector went off and of course all this commotion woke up my husband(!)who luckily put out the fire for me. I felt like the biggest fool, I can't even make a baked pancake! I think I need to stick to your soup recipies - but actually it was quite hilarious....we were laughing about it. Never a dull moment around here. I did finally finish baking it, once the oven cooled off and it was quite good, but mine was really flat in the middle, not all pretty like yours. I'm guessing it was all the in and out of the oven that did it in. Oh well, better luck nex time...See ya later~
