Scared of Santa

Logan is 100% terrified of Santa Claus, he actually thinks he is a monster. To his defense, a person dressed up like that and is 10 times bigger than me would constitute a monster to me too!!!

Tell Your Christmas Story

My 2 1/2 year old, Logan, is a very much a boy in every way. Tough as nails and strong-willed. My husband and I thought he would not have a problem with Santa because of this and that he wants to do whatever his older brother, Connor (5 yrs.) does. The event started out very good. We got to the mall and filled out our Santa List and got to mail it to the North Poll. Next we got to press the magic pendullum that told both of the boys that they were not naughty, but NICE!!! (Go figure). Last was the highlight of our trip, a chance to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what goodies they want for Christmas. While waiting for other children to take their photo with Santa, I began to whisper in Logan's ear, "Are you ready to take a picture with Santa?" and he said firmly "NO!!!" "Come on, Logan, your brother will sit right by you with Santa Claus" He began shaking his little head furiously saying "NO! NO! NO!" Now, Logan gets a lot of his stubborness from me because all I could think was how could I hurry up and get the picture, just so I would have something to scrapbook, nevermind the emotional scars. I told his brother to go ahead and sit on Santa's lap and to be ready for the picture, because Logan was not going to stay on Santa's lap long. My oldest who absolutely loves the idea of Santa did as he was told. Next was Logan. So, I pryed his little wrapped legs from around my waist and then sat him down on Santa's lap ,then pryed his arms from around my neck, did a quick samari move to get out of the way as Logan's screaming "Mommy!!!" Two pictures were taken extremely fast because I bet he was only on there for maybe 2 seconds. I quickly grabbed my emotionally scarred little one for some big hugs to calm him down. It was then, that he used the word "Monster". With Halloween the last holiday to his memory, I guess that response was appropriate.
I don't think I will ever forget this picture, but I'm hoping he will in time for another picture next year!!! I have to have a picture to scrapbook!!!
