Nyah,our yougest,a Dec. baby,at a whole 1 years old was fine while mommy was holding her; But once placed down on Jolly ole Santa's lap for a picture she took one look at him and broke out in tears!

Tell Your Christmas Story

This picture will hold a special place with us ironically even though our baby girl is scared for dear life because our family was all together on this outing. My husband is with the Air Force and he just received orders for a non-accompanied tour to S. Korea for a year so we were visiting Santa and a Christmas Village together since we will not be able to be together for Christmas in 2008. Next year I can look at this bittersweet moment captured in the picture and remember all who was present and how much fun we were having besides the Santa incident. I'll remember that my oldest daughter is in the picture busy telling Santa her Christmas list, while my youngest is reacting to a new face. I'll remember that my my husband is holding our two year old son off to the side because he didn't even give getting anywhere close to Santa a chance. And I will remember that I was looking through my camera lens making sure not to miss a smile that never came from our baby girl. And finally I will remember how that brief disappointment for our baby was put to rest the moment I picked her up and we moved along to view the Christmas lights. It is memories like these that will give me the strength to be joyous through the times we all can't be together.
