Tell Your Christmas Story

When my daughter and her family visited us this summer, she bought me the SC logo sign for our newly replanted front yard. They are now in Senegal, West Africa as agricultural missionaries and my two grandsons are far from home this Christmas. Every time I walk in my beautiful yard, I am reminded that they visited and love me very much. When I was a small child, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, it was popular to make ornaments from fusing small flat discs of colorful plastic - that is how this snowman was made and I have had it for over 50 years. We never, did I say never, have snow at Christmas or practically any other time here in South Carolina. Just doesn't happen. So my compromise is to hang my faithful, ancient snowman with my new, beautiful SC plaque, in the hopes that Mr. Snowman may influence SC to give up its snow just this one time. I doubt it - but since Christmas is a time of hope, then we have hope that we will have a white Christmas, that we will have a Merry Christmas, and that my family in Senegal will have a safe Christmas.
