you are looking at our wonderland. the reason it is special is because i have hand made alot of the items and i had my grandchildren as insparation for the things you see.
Tell Your Christmas Story
i guess you could say that i inhearited the joy of holiday decorating from both my grandmother and my monther. They both decorated for each holiday and i loved to look at all the lights at chrismas time. I started doing my own decorating when my children were small and seeing the joy it brought to there eyes was all I needed to contiue the tradition. I lost the feelings it brought to me when my grandmother passed away and i thought that maybe i should just quit doing it but then the grandchildren started comming and i knew in my heart that i could not let them not have the joy too. So i started getting things again and i started making items out of wood, and now my grandchildren like to help pappy put the stuff up. It takes several weeks to put together and get everything just right. Three years ago my mother lost her battle with cancer and i had put her picture out and i wrote up a tribute to her. The people that came to look at the lights amazed me and my displays were on the news. you can imajine my suprise when we came home from spending christmas eve with my wifes family and saw the news crew in front of our house, at first we thought it was a fire or something so we were really suprised to see our house on the news that night. Right now my decorations consist of several areas.. area one is a snowman village with snowman skating and just visiting others, area two is rudloph and the land of the misfit toys, area three is a manger and animals and angels, area four is penguins standing a the north pole with santa and his sled with some of his team, area five is caroling mice which stand about three feet tall, area six is the three chipmunks, which consist of alvin theadore and simon, area seven is charlie brown and his freinds and they consist of charlie , lucy, lyonos,sally, shroder, and of couses snoopy, area eight is of a handmade sled and deer with toys and santa and the grandkids love to sit it santa's sled and area nine is of a gingerbread village complete with a church several houses and lots of yummy treats to eat. i hope that when people remember me they will say hey that's the guy who made christmas really special and i truley hope to hand down the traditions that my grandmother and mother taught me. right now due to health reasons i am unemployeed and so doing this brings joy to my wife when she gets home from work, she loves to look at the lights and to share my joy with her makes everything worthwile, between her and my grandchildren they are my inspiration for doing this. my wife's family come to our house for a christmas party and the kids try to guess what is new and improved, this has been going on for several years now,so i hope when you see the picture you will feel the joy that it has brought me, and hopefully next year i will be able to contiue to add to my collections and to brighten up someones day.
