Tell Your Christmas Story

The year our oldest daughter was born, I purchased a book on building playhouses with the dream of building a playhouse for our daughter. Soon after the birth of our second daughter 3-1/2 years later, my husband and I (mostly my husband) finally built the playhouse with the help of my husband's father and his workshop.

The playhouse was made with love, real cedar roof shingles, cedar siding, and special order shutters for the operable windows. There is a heart-shaped peephole on the door (that is not visible because of the wreath in the photo) with matching heart gingerbread trim around the porch. Inside, there are built-in shelves for pretend food and other household items and there is a play oven/stove.

Our daughters and their friends love playing in the house in the warmer months. In the winter, we decorate it for the holidays and we can all enjoy it while warm and cozy inside the house.

My hope is that our daughters have lifetime memories of their playhouse.
