While our Marine is on duty in Iraq, our springer spaniel keeps watch at the front door which is decorated to honor our son!

Tell Your Christmas Story

Our oldest son, Patrick, is a USMC 1st lieutenant currently deployed in Iraq. We wanted Patrick to know we were all thinking of him when we decorated our home this year. The wreath was decorated with a Marine Corps stocking and the ribbons done in red, white, & blue accented by the red and gold of the Marine Corps. The outside lights were done in red, white and blue. Inside, the hall table displays Patrick's picture and a table top tree decorated with red, white, and blue and topped with both a Marine Corps and a U.S. flag. Our intrepid 11 year old springer spaniel, MacKenzie, is on guard each day at the door waiting for his buddy to return!
Only one window displayed a candle this Christmas season unlike past years when all the windows were lit. That candle in the window has been lit since Patrick left last June and will stay lit till he returns HOME in March 2008! Patrick will see all the lights blazing then because EVERYTHING is staying this way until he sees them personally!!
We are immensely proud of Patrick's service and our grateful to all who serve our country!!
