My daughter is a huge Mickey Mouse fan! Even though she is only 21 months, from the time she came home at 9 months, just the sight of Mickey Mouse was enough to bring a huge smile to her face. Now, Mickey Mouse has officially taken over our house! I recently brought my daughter's new toddler bed into her room and she immediately put all of her Mickey Mouse stuffed animals on it. On Christmas day, after I put her Christmas dress on her, she climbed back into bed to play hide and seek with the stuffed animals. She was hugging and kissing Mickey and then trying to hide behind all of them.

This Christmas memory is so special to me, because this is the first year that my daughter was home for Christmas. She was adopted from Guatemala and came home in January of this year. I am a single mom, so it is just the two of us and she has brought me more joy this past year that I could ever have imagined. I have wanted to be a mom for so long and I've always dreamed of the day that I would be able to watch the joy in my daughter's eyes on Christmas! This picture reminds me of her playful personality that brings a smile to everyone's face that meets her. Just seeing the happiness in her eyes makes me feel like the luckiest mom there ever was!
