Living so far from home, any mail from loved ones is met with great delight. But when it's a package full of love & care, the contents are even more treasured. A charming Santa baby dress and hat came express from my 2nd mom-friend way down south. 18 month old Grace was just as enthused, helping me open the box and sorting through the paper to find the cutie dress. She stripped her clothes at once to put the dress on. I scrambled to find the camera before the frock lost its appeal. I returned to find Grace sitting by the Christmas tree fingering some ribbon from the package. No need to position or pose, she was pretty as a picture. The treasure in this memory is not the gift but the love and care that motivated the sending. Still reeling from the loss of my mom just 2 months before, this dress was just the thing my mom would have picked out for little Grace. My friend, keenly aware of the impact of such a loss, lovingly blessed us in the memory of my mother. It is the deposit of love heart from another that makes this the most wonder FULL time of the year. Couple this love with the delight and wonder of a child and you have a portrait of true spirit of Christmas.
