Brief Description:

After studying Native Americans in school my son was determined to be one for Halloween, so we sat down and talked about what he wanted. I tried to incorperate every idea that he had, and what we came up with was this fabulous costume. The head piece was by far the most difficult part, and all of the fringe is hand cut.

I would say that he made one very cute little Native boy.

Brown ultra suede material, thread, several kinds of decorative ribbons, hand cut fringe, lots of feathers, and several collected (and homemade) accessories.

Time to Create:

about two days of sewing.
Contest Photo Tips and Guidelines:
  • Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple -- your gingerbread house or holiday cookie is the star!
  • Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash.
  • Upload a horizontal photo. If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio.
  • For best results, make your image 1200x900 (or "save for web").
  • With a digital camera, you can take as many photos as possible and choose the best one. Have fun!
