Brief Description:

My son wanted to be Garfield for Halloween ... but Garfield costumes are VERY hard to come by! So we made one as best we could. He was SO excited that he got to be Garfield~

Materials:

~Body~ used an orange t-shirt and orange sweat pants (turned inside out so they'd be fuzzy). Black fabric paint sponged on made the stripes.
~ Ears & Tail~ Were actually made from a toddler's pumpkin costume. The top of the pumpkin & plastic cat ears were the base for Garfield's head. The body of the pumpkin was cut up to sew a tail and cover the plastic ears.
~ Used styrofoam eggs, felt, & googly eyes glued onto Groucho Marx glasses for the face. Added a cat snout to complete.

Time to Create:

Not long at all!
Contest Photo Tips and Guidelines:
  • Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple -- your gingerbread house or holiday cookie is the star!
  • Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash.
  • Upload a horizontal photo. If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio.
  • For best results, make your image 1200x900 (or "save for web").
  • With a digital camera, you can take as many photos as possible and choose the best one. Have fun!
