Chinese Take Out

Contest Photo by: Deanna_Hailey

Category: Creative Creatures

Brief Description:

My 5 year old daughter always seems to come up with "food" costume ideas for Halloween. Since she really likes Chinese Lo-Mein we decided to create it from scratch, this year. After lots of Hot Glue, creativity and patience, I think we did a good job. Everywhere she went in this costume she turned heads and got loads of compliments. Looking at the costume makes me hungry. The Chinese Hat and fortune cookie ear muffs really complete the costume.

Materials:

Cardboard box
White poster board
wire
many mop heads
thick elastic
2 square wood dowels
tan & light green felt
orange foam sheet
hot glue
duct tape
clear packing tape
ear muffs
Chinese Hat
real broccoli
box cutter

sweat shirt
large needle and thread

Time to Create:

Approx. 8 hours
Contest Photo Tips and Guidelines:
  • Avoid clutter. Keep the background simple -- your gingerbread house or holiday cookie is the star!
  • Daytime, natural light is best. If your area is bright enough, try taking the photo without the flash.
  • Upload a horizontal photo. If you crop the image on your computer, make sure you keep a landscape 4:3 aspect ratio.
  • For best results, make your image 1200x900 (or "save for web").
  • With a digital camera, you can take as many photos as possible and choose the best one. Have fun!
